What are the system requirements for StreamLogger™? |
Can I share log files across platforms? |
Yes. StreamLogger™ log files are cross platform compatible (Mac OS X & Windows®). |
I tried to open my QuickTime reference movie file, and it failed. What do I do? |
If the Stream URL is changed, a reference movie will no longer be functional. This does not affect StreamLogger™ log files. Creation of a new reference movie that uses the proper Stream URL, and the same file name should rectify your problem. You will not have to create new log files. |
Is there a limit to the number of markers I can create with StreamLogger™? |
The trial version of StreamLogger™ only allows creation of 2 markers per log file. The fully licensed version of StreamLogger allows virtually unlimited marker creation. |
Is there a limit to the amount of text I can insert into the Comments field? |
There are no limits set by StreamLogger™ as to the length of comments in the Comments field. The only limitations are imposed by system resources, and as log files are very small, this is not likely to become an issue. |
Can I create more than one log file for the same movie? |
Of course! We knew that you might want to annotate the same file in more than one way. StreamLogger is ideal for creating files based on the intended viewer. One group of viewers may only need to pay attention to one or two points in a stream, while others may need a file with many marker points. |
I am sharing log files with people who only use the StreamLogger™ Player. How can they send comments back to me? |
When you create a log file, StreamLogger™ allows you to enter Author information. This includes a field for an associated email address. When a log file is opened in the StreamLogger™ Player, that email shows up as an email link. They may click that link to reply to the address via email. |
Why doesn't StreamLogger™ work with some of my QuickTime movies? |
Not all QuickTime movies are the same. See information about reference movies contained in the StreamLogger Help documentation. |
Will StreamLogger™ work with "progressive download" QuickTime movies? |
While Streamlogger™ is not designed to work with progressive download Quicktime files, they should function normally, provided the user is willing to wait for the file to load completely. |
Is StreamLogger™ compatible with streaming media formats other than QuickTime? |
Currently StreamLogger™ supports only QuickTime files. Future releases may include support for other common types of streaming media. |
I'm having trouble with display of my QuickTime movie(s) in StreamLogger™. What should I do? |
StreamLogger™ fully utilizes QuickTime for display of QuickTime media. If you are having playback issues, please attempt to playback your movie in the QuickTime player instead of StreamLogger™, to ensure that it is indeed StreamLogger that is causing your playback issues. Also, verify the file is a stream type that is compatible with StreamLogger™ (see the Streamlogger™ help files for more information). |
Is StreamLogger™ available in other languages? |
Version 1.5 is an English language version only. Future versions may support localization, based upon request. |
Why does the video shuttle when I create a new marker? |
StreamLogger™ does this in order to capture your thumbnail image. Alternatively you can use CapSure™ mode (see the StreamLogger™ help files for more information) |
Are StreamLogger™ log files backward compatible? |
The current version of StreamLogger™ will open all StreamLogger™ files. Files created in StreamLogger 1.5 & newer will not be compatible with earlier versions of StreamLogger™. If you experience difficulty in opening a log file, simply upgrade to the latest version of StreamLogger™. |
